• How far in advance do I need to schedule?

Most clients book newborn packages in their second trimester. This ensures that I don’t overbook around your due date and that you have all the info you need to prepare for your session. Family & Portrait sessions can book up quickly depending on the time of year. Reach out as early as possible to get a date set.

  • My baby has already arrived. Can I still book?

Typically we can get you in. Please reach out as soon as possible to discuss availability.

  • What is the best age to photograph a newborn?

I like to photograph in the first few weeks. Older babies are often accommodated, but we may have to switch to a more lifestyle approach as older babies typically don’t sleep as much and pose in the props as easily.

  • What days and times do you photograph?

Newborn sessions are usually taken during the weekday starting around 10am. This can be adjusted based on schedules for dads and siblings. Outdoor family sessions are typically done during the first couple hours of the morning or the last couple of hours in the evening for the prettiest lighting.

  • Can we do an indoor family session if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

Absolutely. I have a few suggestions for studios that you can rent by the hour and am happy to get you that info as needed.

  • What if my child (or husband) isn’t cooperating? ;)

It happens and I don’t want you to stress about it. I have all the patience in the world and we can take breaks and adjust our approach as needed. This is also why we don’t have a time limit. Sometimes a little warm-up time is necessary.

  • What are your prices?

All of my pricing can be found on my packages and pricing page HERE.

  • What if my home doesn’t have the best lighting?

I do love to work with natural light, but I always bring portable lighting with me in case it’s needed.

  • How long does the session last?

Newborn sessions typically last 3 hours on average. We are working on the baby’s schedule, so there are times when it takes more or occasionally less time. I’m here to make sure we get all the photos we are wanting with no rush. Family and maternity sessions usually last 45 minutes to 90 minutes depending on where we photograph and how much walking there is to different spots.

  • Where do you photograph your outdoor sessions?

I have tons of location suggestions and will work with you based on your style and where you live to find the perfect spot. I can send over galleries to showcase different suggestions if you’d like.

  • What if I have to reschedule?

Rescheduling is no worry. Let me know as soon as possible and we will work to find a new date.

  • Do you offer mini-sessions?

I completely understand the appeal and premise behind mini-sessions, but I don’t do them for several reasons. I love working with my clients, and I enjoy giving you my time, skill, and attention. A lot goes into a session, from planning to the editing process. We all need time to get comfortable with each other and warm up to the camera. Kiddos may need to work through a meltdown and get to know this stranger who is taking their pictures. There are a lot of little details I wouldn’t be able to adjust with a quick session. I want everyone to have a full portrait experience and give quality photos to each client.

  • Where do I go to book?

Please fill out my online form HERE and I’ll get back to you on all the details to book.
